Mecum Auctions kicks off 2026 at the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, FL, beginning today, Tuesday, January 6, and running through Sunday, January 18. This is the largest in-person sale of the year for any company. They’re expecting 4,500 cars to cross the block, which means there will likely be 4,500 total lots including the memorabilia/automobilia.
The top dog is undoubtedly The Bianco Speciale (3729GT). This 1962 Ferrari is the only factory-delivered white 250 GTO. Maybe the expected $60m-plus (that’s my first guess, but maybe $40m?, $80m?, what do you expect?) is too much for the amount of spare change in your couch; there’s also a 2017 LaFerrari Aperta available at no reserve.
But American-car buyers have some holy grails to pursue down in central Florida, too. There’s a prototype ’69 Yenko Camaro, a drop-top Hemi ‘Cuda and, for a lot less cash, a wildly modified 1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina custom. There are also two Ford GT40s on the run list, one Mk I and one Mk II lightweight.
Yes, there will a seemingly endless run of modern SUVs and other assorted cars that most of us won’t consider collectible. But that’s one of the ways that Mecum fills out a 4,500-spot roster.
Again, the action starts today and runs to Sunday, January 18. We’ll be on top of the major sales and other interesting tidbits right here as the sale progresses.
